Cookie Policy

The Short Version

MyHome sets one cookie, and it is there to keep you signed in. We use no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies. Nobody buys space on MyHome to follow you around, and we do not build a profile of you to sell.

Because everything we store on your device is either needed to run the service or a preference you set yourself, there is no consent banner to click through.

Cookies We Set

Every cookie MyHome sets.
NameWhat it is forHow long it lastsEssential
mh.sidKeeps you signed in. It holds a random session identifier and nothing else — no personal data is stored in the cookie itself. Set with HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, so it cannot be read by scripts and is not sent from other sites.7 days, extended while you keep using MyHome. Removed when you sign out.Yes

Other Things We Store in Your Browser

Alongside that cookie we keep a few small values in your browser's local and session storage. These never leave your device — they are not sent to our servers with each request the way a cookie is — but they are still information stored on your machine, so we list them here in full.

Error and Diagnostic Reporting

We use Sentry to tell us when something breaks. When the app hits an error it sends Sentry a report — the error, the page you were on and your account identifier — so we can find and fix it. Sentry does not set a cookie; it keeps a short-lived identifier in your browser's session storage so that several reports from the same visit can be joined up.

Sentry can also record a short replay of the screen. We record one only when an error actually occurs — never as a routine sample of ordinary sessions — and every piece of text is masked and all images are blocked before the replay leaves your browser, so a replay shows the shape of the page and what you clicked, not the contents of your documents. This was tightened deliberately: capturing document text in a diagnostic tool is not something we are willing to do.

How to Control Cookies

Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block new ones. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox it is under Settings, then Privacy; in Safari it is under Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data. Clearing site data for myhomedocs.co.uk removes everything listed on this page.

Blocking the mh.sid cookie will sign you out and stop you signing back in, because it is how MyHome knows the request is coming from you. Clearing local storage is harmless — you will just be asked your appearance and view preferences again.

Where Your Data Sits

Your documents are stored encrypted at rest in the EU, in Scaleway's Paris region in France, and are handled under UK GDPR. When you use a MyHome AI feature, the text of the document concerned is sent to Anthropic in the United States to generate the answer. That transfer is covered by a data processing agreement, and Anthropic does not use it to train models.

Our privacy policy has the fuller picture of what we collect and why.

Changes and Contact

If we add a cookie or change what we store, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. If we ever need to set something that is not essential, we will ask you first.

Questions about any of this go to support@myhomedocs.co.uk.
