Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Who We Are

MyHome is a UK service that keeps your household documents in one place and helps you find what is in them. These terms are the agreement between you and [TRADING ENTITY — TO BE CONFIRMED], the company that operates MyHome. Where these terms say "we" or "us" they mean [TRADING ENTITY — TO BE CONFIRMED]; where they say "you" they mean the person who holds the account. Our registered address is [TRADING ENTITY — TO BE CONFIRMED].

The Service

MyHome stores the documents you upload or forward to us, reads them so they can be searched, and draws out details such as renewal and expiry dates. Some parts of the service depend on what your plan includes. We add and change features as the product develops, and we will not remove something you rely on without telling you first.

Your Account

You need an account to use MyHome, and you must give us an email address you control. Keep your password to yourself and let us know promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 18 or over, and you may not create an account on someone else's behalf without their agreement.

Acceptable Use

Use MyHome for your own household documents. Do not upload material you have no right to hold, do not use the service to break the law, and do not try to get at other people's data, disrupt the service, or work around the limits of your plan. We may suspend an account that is doing any of these things, and we will tell you why when we do.

Your Documents and Content

Your documents stay yours. Uploading them to MyHome gives us permission to store them, process them and show them back to you — that is what makes the service work — and nothing more. We do not sell your documents, we do not share them with anyone outside the providers listed in our privacy policy, and we do not use them to advertise to you. You can export or delete your documents at any time.

AI Features

MyHome uses AI to summarise your documents, pull out dates and answer questions about them. These answers are generated from your own documents and they can be wrong: a date can be misread, a figure can be picked up from the wrong line, and a summary can miss something. Treat what MyHome tells you as a prompt to go and check, not as the last word. Always confirm anything that matters — a renewal date, a premium, a deadline — against the source document. MyHome does not give financial, legal, tax or insurance advice, and nothing it produces is a substitute for advice from someone qualified to give it.

Duo Households

A Duo plan lets two people share one household. Both of you can see and work with the documents in that household, so only invite someone you are happy to share everything with. If a partner leaves the household, or the household owner removes them, the documents in the household stay with the household owner — including documents the departing partner uploaded. Anything that person holds outside the household stays with them, their account continues on its own plan, and any inbox they had connected is paused. We tell the departing partner this at the time.

Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance, either monthly or annually — you choose which when you subscribe. The current prices are the ones shown on our pricing page. Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment provider, and we never see or hold your full card details. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period — each month on a monthly plan, each year on an annual plan — until you cancel. If a payment fails we will try again and let you know; if it keeps failing your account moves to the free plan. We will give you notice before any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Cancellation and Account Deletion

You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your settings. Cancelling stops the next payment; you keep the paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for — the month on a monthly plan, the year on an annual one — and we do not refund part of a period. Deleting your account is separate from cancelling and it is permanent: it erases your documents, your account and the data we hold about you, and it cannot be undone. Export anything you want to keep before you do it. If you are the owner of a Duo household, deleting your account removes the household as well.

Availability and Changes

We work to keep MyHome running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. We take it down for maintenance from time to time and we will give notice when we can. We may change these terms as the service changes; when we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and tell you before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel and delete your account.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, we are responsible for loss that we could reasonably have foreseen when you signed up, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. We are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, or for a decision you took on the strength of an AI-generated answer without checking the source document. MyHome is not a backup service: keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. If you use MyHome for business rather than for your own household, the consumer protections in the law do not apply to you.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.

Contact

If you have a question about these terms, or a complaint about the service, email us at support@myhomedocs.co.uk and we will come back to you. Written notice to us should go to [TRADING ENTITY — TO BE CONFIRMED].
